You’re an adult. Act like one.

Growing up, I remember constantly hearing the saying “sticks and stones may break my bones….

Growing up, I remember constantly hearing the saying “sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.” It’s funny how today, it seems like society has completely erased this saying from the face of the Earth.

As someone who is aspiring to achieve greatness in life, you cannot let the negative words of others slow you down. The world is an evil, nasty place. Sometimes the truth hurts. But even if it hurts, the truth is what will set you free. If you are someone who spends your energy worrying about what people say to you, or how other people act, then unfortunately you will lose.

You can only control your thoughts. You can only control your actions. The only thing in life you have absolute 100% control over, is yourself. Your journey needs to be one where you are spending your energy on yourself. Focussing on how to become a better version of yourself, so that you can be a force for good in the human race.

Yesterday, i sent out an email with the subject line “You are useless because….” of course, the content of the email was positive, but I noticed some of you may have been offended by that subject line. I even got a few emails, ridiculing my terminology.

If you’re so weak to be offended by what an anonymous person on the internet has to say about you-especially one who has your best interest at heart, then I have some bad news for you. I’m not saying you will not be successful, but I can guarantee that your journey in life will be long and frustrating. The world is not all butterflies and rainbows. I can only hope that you find out in the most pleasant way possible, or be lucky enough to never need to find out at all.

Focus your time and energy on yourself, not what others have to say.

Today’s lesson will be brief:

Don’t be scared of the truth. Accept it, and do what you need to do to either maintain it or change it.

Stop being lazy, go to the f**king gym, fix your da** resume, stop ordering Uber eats if you’re poor, get a job, change your situation. Complain about it all you want, the only one listening to your complaints is yourself. Do you want others to validate the life that you hate? Or do you want to put the work to build something meaningful for yourself?

The choice is yours.
