Your friends are dragging you down.

If everyone is moving forward together, then success takes care of itself.

There’s no doubt you’ve heard the saying, “you are the average of the five people you hang around with the most.” It’s a very powerful statement, and one that holds a lot of truth. Who does your circle consist of?

Here are your three lessons.

  1. Build a supportive network 🤝 Surround yourself with people who share your ambitions, values, and desire for growth. Build relationships with those who have the ability to inspire, challenge, and support you. Btw, when I say support, I don’t mean monetarily, support means mentally and emotionally.

  2. Work together 🌐 Seek out opportunities to collaborate with others on projects, initiatives, or learning experiences. That’s just fancy talk for “do productive things together”, i.e. go to the gym with your friend daily to build good habits etc.

  3. Put the ego down 🙌 Success is not a zero-sum game. Ego generally speaking, is not bad. I actually argue that having an ego to some extent is necessary. However you need to remember that helping others succeed does not diminish your own achievements. Be generous with your knowledge, time, and resources. Likewise, you need to be willing to accept assistance from others. You’ve often heard me say here that he who knows all, knows none. In a strong, supportive network, everyone’s success contributes to the overall growth of the group.

There is strength in numbers. Moving forward as a group only amplifies your potential for success. Keep in mind, the quality of said group will make or break your collective results. Surround yourself with people who elevate your aspirations, and work collectively to achieve greatness.

Regards, and keep moving forward.
